Rain Bird XFS Dripline with Copper Shield

We also sell Rain Bird XFD dripline for on-surface installations.

What is Rain Bird XFS Series Dripline with Copper Shield? Rain Bird is a big name in irrigation, and this is their high-tech 1/2" tubing with special inline emitters for sub-surface drip irrigation. The Copper Shield is a non-chemical method of preventing root-intrusion—a major destructive force for drip tubing.

Why Rain Bird XFS? Rain Bird XFS is a top-of-the-line drip tubing with inline emitters, comparable to Netafim Techline CV, but priced a little bit cheaper. Rain Bird's method of preventing root intrusion is more suited to organic gardeners, even though the amount of chemical in the Netafim emitters is trace.

Why not Rain Bird XFD? Rain Bird recommends XFS for sub-surface installations because of their Copper Shield technology. You pay extra for this, and since on-surface installations have less root intrusion issues, they suggest purchasing the less expensive XFD. It's worth noting, you CAN install XFS on-surface.

We stock Rain Bird XFS with the following options

  • Flow Rate: 0.6 GPH and 0.9 GPH
  • Emitter Spacing: 12"
  • Coil Length: of 100' and 500'

Too many options?
Choose Flow Rate - 0.9 GPH, Emitter Spacing - 12", and 2 Coils of Length - 100'. You can fiddle with it later.

The pressure range for Rain Bird XFS is 8.5 to 60 psi.
